Rules of The Game!!
|
Jeff of Montreal and a beginner golf in 2010, asked, "What are some of the Rules of the Game", I should know?"
Thanks Jeff, for your questions.... I will try and give you a few simple examples of "Rules of the Game!" you should know.
- Should a golf ball fall off the Tee when not in play or if it is knocked off the tee as a player addresses it, the ball,
may be re-teed with penalty.
- Should a player's golf ball, strike a flagstick being attended by any person authorized by that player, the player shall
incur a two-stroke penalty, and the ball will be played from where it lies.
- A player who starts a round of Golf with 13 or fewer clubs and then breaks one of them, may buy or borrow a
replacement. This is permissible since the player is entitled to add clubs up to a maximum of 14.
- If a golf ball lands in or beside a bird's nest and cannot be struck without damaging the nest, the player may drop the
ball without penalty at the nearest spot clear of the next but no closer to the hole.
- According to the Rules of Golf, hitting your own golf cart with the golf ball, is just as bad as hitting your caddy.
You are assessed a two-stroke penalty and must play the ball from where it lies.
When in doubt, check with your local CPGA Golf Professional or Golf Instructor.
Keep it in the short grass, and good things, will happen often. |
